The Marilyn Foster Scholarship

Application Period is Open April 1 - May 15, 2025

The Coronado Junior Woman’s Club is pleased to announce the opportunity for three outstanding young women from the Class of 2025 to receive a scholarship, recognizing their dedication to community involvement. This award is open to students from the Coronado Unified School District or Coronado residents who demonstrate a strong commitment to making a positive impact in their community.

Each recipient will be awarded a $2,500 scholarship, which will be sent directly to the registrar of the chosen university. Additionally, awardees will be honored at a future event, with details to be announced.

Eligible applicants must plan to attend an accredited higher education institution in the upcoming fall semester.

*Application deadline is May 15th at 5 PM.

Behind the Name

Marilyn Foster

The scholarship honors the legacy of the late Mrs. Marilyn Foster who was known for her steadfast dedication to serving the Coronado community. She was best known for her involvement as a military spouse, an award-winning gardener. and an active member of the CJWC. Foster believed that a community is only as strong as the people who make it. This scholarship is aimed at identifying the next generation of women who have and will continue to contribute to their communities like Marilyn Foster.
